About ME!

I was brought up to work hard for what I want. My first  JOB was delivering the local newspaper once a week. I was 9 years old. I received .05 for every paper I sold. My background is in manufacturing. I've worked in 7 different shoe shops, a lumber mill, woolen mill and many part time waitressing jobs to name a few. I loved those jobs.  I need to work with my hands. Make things. My Mom taught me to knit and sew when I was 7 yrs. old. I finally learned to crochet in my 20's. I learned to make candles and sell them at craft shows and to a few local stores.
That's me. It's what I love to do.

Years ago, when I was a single mom, I found the Home Party Business. I tried Tupperware, I loved meeting people, getting my favorite products free or at a discount. But I got bored with it and moved on. Then I tried Avon... 2 weeks.. it wasn't for me. Herbalife... I laughed when Debby tried to tell me about it, who needs that stuff? Who buys that stuff?? Just learn to eat right.. right?  LOL , Well Herbalife showed me things and I learned that our foods really don't have the nutrition it did many moons ago when our grandparents grew thier own. We all need help! I tried some products, more because I felt bad for giving Debby a hard time, but I learned REAL QUICK , what suppplements can do. I never felt better in my entire life. My headaches were gone, my back didn't hurt as much, I had more energy , I lost 30 pounds and fit into a size 6!

Now mind you, I'm NOT trying to sell you anything. This is ME we're talking about. There are many products and services out there for everyone. Not all products and services are good, but if you look, you'll find something for you!! AND... you won't know until you try it. So don't be afraid to try something new, you might be surprised!

Do I still use Herbalife??  It's been 12 years. I stand behind it 100%. But I confess, I'm not "consistant" anymore. Well, sometimes I am.  My Mom is 85 , she's been using it for a year. She's diabetic, and is on 7 different meds. ( down from 9)  But her blood readings have gone down to normal instead of almost 300,  She's lost over 30 pounds, the doc took her off some of her meds, she feels great!! Her health is great!  And although I don't sell it, we still use the products.

I love home business! I love meeting new people. I would say about 20% of the people I know, are people I met through a home business, my Etsy website I use for my candles, craft shows, home parties, meetings, conventions ect... some have become  and still are, my very dear friends.

I have a wonderful husband who works hard. When we met, I was working a full time job at the saw mill and 2 part time jobs. he had his own business, until the town decided to build a road through it.
He found another job, and so did I. Then I got laid off......... permanently. My company decided they could get the work done cheaper in the Dominican Republic. So 4 buildings full of hard working men and women were out of a job. And so it began.

                   Is this a Pyramid??

What do you do, when you lose your job? When 1/2 your paycheck goes to gas to get to work? I moved to the country for a reason. I'm def. not a city girl. I don't mind the hour drive to find a job, but circumstances prevents me from having a job right now. I care for my mom who lives with us. But I need to do something, I need to keep busy. I need to be with other people. OH YA.... I can work from HOME!!!

I have to laugh when people ask.. "Is this a Pyramid Scheme?" Let me explain something, then I'm done for the night.

What is a Pyramid ??? Usually my answer is..." Oh you mean like your JOB?"

You see, so many people really have no idea what they're asking. Somewhere along the line, home based businesses got a bad rap. You have to sell a product or service, then get your friends and family to buy it and so on. Well, I can betcha everyone has bought "something" from a home based business. So why is it so bad? Why do people call it a pyramid?
YES, people that do a home business which involves a product or service, sells it to make money. Either part time or full time. AND, when they HELP others to join thier team, they are helping them to make money too. What the heck is wrong with helping other people make money??

Now a pyramid is like a JOB. You have all the workers doing the work,( at the bottom of the pyramid)  hardly ever getting a raise, you know what you're getting paid every week. You will most likely, never make it to manager position or own the company.  (at the top of the pyramid)  So you never really "Move Up" in your JOB. It's the 40-40-40 plan. You work 40 hours a week for 40 years and retire on 40% of your income. Nothing wrong with that at all! I wish I still had a JOB. I loved my co-workers, I loved the fact I new what my paycheck was going to be. I could easily plan ahead!  But I don't have a JOB , remember it's down in the DR and too far for me to travel.

BUT, if I find a good product, or a good service, something I'd be proud to share with my friends and family.. then maybe... I can build a nice little business for myself and "HELP" others to do the same. I can make my own hours, I can work from home, so I don't have to leave Mom alone all day. ( So turn the pyramid upside down) You start at the bottom and work your way up to all the "other" successful people at the top. Plenty of room at the top! :) Oh and I didn't mention, the tax deductions. Everyone should have some sort of business, makes tax time a joy!

It's not easy, nobody ever said it would be easy. But it's fun!! I make money and I'm working on "helping" others. And the best part is.. I don't have to step on other people to get to the top. I can help them get to the top too, because there's plenty of room up there. Unlike a JOB.

It's not for everyone, but you never know unless you try it. But first, find a product or service you love.

Good night for now!
